Research Journal : Mekal Insights


Call for Papers

Articles in the form of research papers, concept notes, and book reviews are invited for the Mekal Insights - an official publication of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University for the issue July- December 2022. The authors are requested to submit their manuscripts as per the following guidelines:

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original. Paper submission must be accompanying a certificate/declaration by the author(s) that the paper is his /her/ their original work and has neither been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript must be in MS Word in Times New Roman font 12-point font size on A-4 size paper with 1” margin from all sides with 1.5 line spacing, and justified alignment.
  • The length of the manuscript should be around 6000 words including references. The first page should consist of the title of the paper, details of authors in the order of preference with their official designation and affiliation, and an abstract with keywords in not more than 200 words. In the case of multiple authors, the article should clearly indicate the author to whom all correspondence should be addressed.
  • Tables, figures, etc. should be serially numbered and duly acknowledged. Sources of the data need to be given below each table or figure.
  • The author (s) must obtain permission from copyright holders, wherever required. Copyright of accepted articles shall rest with Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via email to mekalinsights@igntu.ac.in. The submitted articles shall undergo an initial screening by the editorial desk and upon preliminary check shortlisted articles will be sent to the experts for a detailed review. The pre-review screening by the editorial board will decide the relevance, scope, check of plagiarism through computer software, and overall quality. The journal follows zero tolerance for plagiarism. The manuscripts which are found appropriate and original shall be forwarded to reviewers.
  • The authors undertake the responsibility to incorporate all changes to the article under review as suggested by the reviewers before final acceptance.
  • References should appear at the end of the paper alphabetically. References should be listed as per the APA Citation Format (7th ed).
Editorial board reserves all rights in the matter of selection or rejection of the paper for publication. Authors may send their inquiries relating to the suitability of their articles in the same id as mentioned above. Please note that the mere submission of an article does not guarantee publication. Furthermore, based on reviewers’ comments, the editorial desk may take a final call on the acceptance of an article for publication and the editorial board shall not be binding upon to furnish the reason for rejection of the article.
The deadline for submission of articles for the ensuing issue is September 30, 2022.

Call for Papers

Mekal Insights, an official publication of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, invites original and unpublished research papers and concept notes from researchers and individuals from disciplines including, but not limited to all branches of Sciences, Social Sciences, and, Humanities having a focus on the Mekal region of Central India. However, research notes or critical analysis having a strong focus on similar settings will also be accepted.

The authors are requested to submit their manuscripts as per the following guidelines:

  • A complimentary copy of the journal will be provided to the author (s).

The submission of the article shall be followed by an initial screening by editorial desk and upon preliminary check shortlisted articles will be sent to the experts for a detailed review. The pre-review screening by the editorial board will decide the relevance, scope, check of plagiarism through computer software and overall quality. The journal follows zero tolerance on plagiarism. The manuscripts which are found appropriate and original shall be forwarded to reviewers.
