About the Department
The Department of Tourism Management (DTM) was established in 2009 under the faculty of Commerce and Management. The Department currently offers PhD – Tourism Management, a two-year MBA – Tourism Management & BBA in Tourism Management, with a total intake of 38 seats of both MBA & BBA. The first eleven batches of the MBA (TTM) students have completed the course and have been well placed in tourism and allied sectors. The Department has successfully offered campus placement to all the opted students.

Salient Features
The academic programmes are designed to help the students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors and allied disciplines. These are the following essential features on which the Department dwells to improve the quality standards of teaching, learning and research.
Pedagogy: A typical combination of teaching methods, such as lectures, presentations, participation, demonstrations, project works, case studies, and field visits, has been adopted to enhance the hands-on experience of the students.
Curriculum: A well-defined course syllabus has been designed to provide comprehensive, rigorous and contemporary theoretical and practical knowledge to the students, thereby meeting the expectations of the tourism industry. The curriculums are updated on regular basis.
Evaluation: Students' performance is evaluated continuously, and the assessment process comprises internal and external tests, which consist of assignments, seminar presentations, participation, and project work.
Interdisciplinary Approaches: The maximum emphasis is given to theoretical and practical inputs from social sciences, commerce and management subjects.
Facilities: The Department makes every possible effort to equip the classrooms with all modern gadgets to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
Alumni Interaction: Building a strong alumni network is prioritised as alumni interactions with students are encouraged continuously.
