About the Department
The Department of Physical Education, under the Faculty of Education, was established in 2022 to promote excellence in physical education and sports sciences.
The department launched its Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) program in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, commencing from the academic session 2023–24. Building on this foundation, the department introduced a postgraduate program—Master of Physical Education and Sports (MPES)—in the session 2024–25. The department expanded its academic offerings by initiating a Ph.D. program in 2025.
Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of sports science, fitness regimens, and the foundational principles of physical education. It emphasizes not only the development of athletic abilities but also the cultivation of core values such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship.
The department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including:
- Well-maintained sports grounds
- A fully-equipped gymnasium

- Modern infrastructure to support a diverse range of physical activities
Throughout the academic year, the department actively engages in a variety of academic and co-curricular initiatives, including sports events, fitness workshops, and research activities, aiming to foster a dynamic and enriching environment for students.
