About Department :

At Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, the Department of Mathematics was established in 2016. The department is growing steadily. The Department of Mathematics is well-equipped with qualified and experienced staff. The main focus of the teaching and research in the department is centered on interdisciplinary themes. The department offers two years M.Sc. programme in Mathematics following semester system. Number of seats in M.Sc. Programme are 20, where the admission procedure follows through all India entrance exam of IGNTU. The Department also offers Ph.D. degree in different branches of Pure and Applied Mathematics. At present, department is having 5 faculty members with expertise in frontier areas of research. The Department conducts research in Approximation Theory, Fourier approximation, Nonlinear analysis, Duality and support functions, Optimization Techniques, Control theory, operator theory and Computational and theoretical Fluid Dynamics. The objective of the department is to provide a stimulating teaching as well research environment for the students.
